Happy Marmalades is a family business established in 2013. Homegrown in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We celebrate Mexican flavors with the world, with a commercial presence in UK, Russia, USA and Mexico. Using only the best quality ingredients from our local farmers, all of our products are handmade from scratch: no preservatives, no artificial colors.
The company started in Xalapa, Veracruz, with Lety and Erika (mother and daugther) in 2003 with the original name of "La Lechuza" (Lety's nickname). After 10 years they decided to change the concept to "Happy Marmalades" to focus on the international market.
Since 2014, HM is a Certified Women Owned company committed to empower women with the best employee benefits. Our cooking process is artisanal so we take care of the planet with non toxic wastes.
The funny thing of the story: Lety is a Dentist and Erika is an Anthropologist (and yes, they are very Happy).

OUR HAPPY MOMENTS
LA LECHUZA 2003-2006
Everything started with a guava tree.
Our uncle Joaquín has the most generous guava tree of Xalapa, Veracruz, so Lety started to cook homemade guava jams just to save the (infinite) guavas, but everybody who tried it asked for more. We started to sell our products in one of the very first organic markets in Mexico, the "Ocelotl". We were there for almost 4 years.
FIT FOR PARTNERSHIP WITH GERMANY 2016
Happy Marmalades was selected to be part of the 7th generation of the Fit for Partnership with Germany program. Organized by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, the program is one of the most important international commerce training for Mexican companies. We spent 5 weeks in Dresden, Germany learning about how to make successful international businesses! One year later, in July 2017, we were recognized for Secretaría de Economía as a Best Practice of the 7th Generation.
SHARK TANK 2018
In 2018 Shark Tank Mexico invited us to the TV show!
It was a great experience even though the deal didn't prosper as we expected. Happy Marmalades continues as a family business without business partners or investors. If you'd like to know more (we don't), check out our BLOG.
